Directions from Glasgow
There is a regular half hourly train service between Glasgow and Helensburgh Central, while the Upper Station is served by around 12 trains a day.
The Upper Station is on the famously scenic West Highland Line which boasts the London Sleeper Service as well as 4 trains to and from Oban, 4 to and from Fort William/Mallaig and 6 to and from Glasgow.
Helensburgh also serves as a local bus service ‘hub’ with connections to Dumbarton and Glasgow as well as the beautifully situated Clyde sea loch villages of Garelochhead, Clynder, Rosneath , Kilcreggan, Cove, Arrochar and Lochgoilhead.
There are also bus connections to the Loch Lomondside communities of Balloch, Luss and Tarbet.
Car Travel Directions
From the South and Glasgow Airport, travel west on M8 following signs for Loch Lomond and Erskine Bridge. Cross bridge to join the A82 (exit left from bridge) and follow Loch Lomond signs. About 12 miles later, at 4th roundabout, take 1st exit to A818 into Helensburgh.
